Amgros’ first comprehensive sustainability report provides insight into how our efforts to ensure a more sustainable healthcare supply are progressing.
In the report, we assess our progress against the targets set out in our Ambition for a More Sustainable Supply. The report covers four focus areas: climate, circular economy, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), and responsible business conduct. We can now document tangible results, including:
Sustainability criteria are included in 36% of all tendered contract lots in 2025, bringing us close to our target of 40% in 2026.
AMR criteria included in 100% of contract lots, contributing to the fight against the development of antibiotic resistance.
A fully implemented due diligence process across all business areas, based on the UN Guiding Principles and OECD Guidelines for Responsible Business Conduct.

This is the result of focused and constructive collaboration with regions, suppliers, and other healthcare stakeholders, says Flemming Sonne, CEO of Amgros.
Climate is one of the key focus areas in Amgros’ Ambition for a More Sustainable Supply. Together with the Danish regions, we have contributed to developing a joint strategy for green hospitals with a focus on reducing climate impacts.
It is essential that we are able to measure the climate effects of the initiatives we implement. Therefore, Amgros is working closely with external consultants and the regions’ climate data group to strengthen the underlying data. This will enable us, in the future, to measure the CO₂ reductions achieved through the sustainability criteria applied in our tenders.
The purpose of publishing Amgros’ sustainability report is to provide partners, suppliers, universities, and other stakeholders with a clear and credible insight into our progress and responsible practices in regard to sustainability. Amgros has experienced strong engagement from stakeholders across the sector, who actively contribute to finding effective solutions that can help us ensure a more sustainable healthcare supply together.
