MERRY CHRISTMAS AND A HAPPY NEW YEAR

Christmas is approaching, and we would like to take this opportunity to thank you for the great collaboration in 2025.

This is also the time of year when we look back on our shared achievements. This year, together we have completed more than 191 tenders, held many constructive negotiations and – in close cooperation with hospital pharmacies and our suppliers – ensured a stable and secure supply of medicines for Danish hospital patients.

Our joint efforts have also made it possible for the healthcare system to use resources even more efficiently. Overall, this has resulted in financial savings of more than DKK 10 billion, which will benefit patients and the healthcare sector.

The year has also brought important progress in the pharmaceutical field – both in Denmark and across the Nordic region. The development of advanced therapies such as gene therapy and cell treatment is moving fast, and we are proud that the Government and Danish Regions have established ATMP-Denmark and placed the secretariat at Amgros. At the same time, the strategy for personalized medicine has given the area further momentum. The goal is clear: Denmark should be among the leading countries in the world when it comes to research and application of the latest treatments – and we are well on our way.

In 2025, we also took on responsibility for the secretariat of a new pilot scheme, where Amgros negotiates prices for selected medicines sold directly to citizens via private pharmacies. This builds on our many years of experience in ensuring supply and low prices for hospitals – and we have already taken the first steps in this new task.

Sustainability has been a recurring theme in our work. We have strengthened efforts for green procurement, reduced waste, and promoted circular solutions in collaboration with stakeholders across the sector. We look forward to further developing this work together with you.

Collaboration and dialogue are the cornerstones of our organization. That is why it was a great pleasure to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Nordic Medicines Forum – a platform for knowledge sharing and joint solutions across borders. An important milestone this year was that Region Skåne, as the first Swedish region, chose to participate in the next joint Nordic tender round together with the procurement organizations in Iceland, Norway, and Denmark.

Looking ahead to 2026, we face new and complex tasks. A key theme will be preparedness in medicines – especially in light of the current geopolitical situation. We believe that, together with the regions, industry, and authorities, we can continue to ensure supply, quality, and stability in the pharmaceutical field.
We wish you and your loved ones a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.

Best regards,
Amgros
